2017 Best in Beauty

2017 Beauty Round up…

2017 has been a crazy year for new beauty launches and product discoveries. I feel like I found some true favourites this year, so of course here is my round up of 2017 beauty discoveries.

 Skincare Saviours

When it comes to skincare, this year I truly listened to my skin and gave it exactly what it needed. I stripped my routines back and finally found products that work.

2017 was the year we all discovered Glossier, the brand that shook the beauty industry, taking it right back to basics with affordable, high quality products. There’s so many items that I love but my favourite has to be the Milky Jelly Cleanser, I have back ups of this product in my stash, it is an absolute must. Moon Mask is my go-to moisturising, glow-giving smoothing treatment. Lastly from Glossier, their balm dot com has become a cult classic, I’ve used this endlessly on my lips, especially during the cooler months.

Omoressence is one of my favourite finds of this year, I use it underneath my serums to add extra hydration. It’s a luxury product that everyone needs in their routine.

Makeup Must Haves…

My foundation of choice for this year by a mile was L’Oreal Pro Glow, sadly this is still not available in the UK. However if you can get your hands on it, you must! It lasts all day, has the perfect glow that isn’t oily or too shiny (read my full review here). As for powder, this isn’t a 2017 find but a 2017 favourite, By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder is my stand out product of the year. Its a light weight, hyaluronic infused translucent powder that can be used to set makeup and also in chance skincare items.

My brow game was completely changed when I started using Glossier Boy Brow, it adds colour, shape, fullness where I need it most and also stays put all day. I have the shade brown but also in clear too, I prefer the brown. My all time fave brow pencil has to be Kevyn Aucoin Precision Brow Pencil, I have 2 as back ups already. It precisely draws in hair strokes for the most natural but full brow look.

By Terry stole my heart this year with their stunning new launch of their expert collection. The stand out products for me were the Rouge-Expert click sticks, I have a full review of them here but my favourite shades are 30 and 28.

Haircare Heroes…

Two different hair brands that I have been loving a lot this year are Christopher Robin and IGK. Christopher Robin’s Regenerating Mask has been my favourite hair product of the year, I am already onto my second tub. With having bleached hair that is often very dry, this highly conditioning mask helps to revive my damaged, bleached hair.

At the start of the year when I saw IGK in the states, I was intrigued to try their popular Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo -I‘ve not looked back since. It adds texture whilst sorting out second day hair. I want to try a lot more from IGK hair soon.

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion; the only body lotion I ever use! This has been my skin saviour of the whole year, I am completely obsessed with this stuff. I am dying to try their exfoliator and body wash next.

My fragrance of the year has to be Elizabeth and James Nirvana White, rollerball. This travels with me everywhere, its the perfect size and smells incredible.

Finally, a hand cream, Aesop’s resurrection hand balm is a must have in anyones skincare regime, I have the mini tube size for travelling but also the large size in my bathroom, its so dreamy.
