I finally have my 2015 beauty favourites to share with you. I’ve been thinking about putting this post together for a while now so here are the stand out products of 2015, theres quite a few to get through.
During 2015 I started to experiment with my makeup a bit more and my go to look was a full coverage base with glowy cheeks and bronzed skin. To help perfect my base I reached for Makeup Forever Step 1 Equalizer Primer in the hydrating formula. This gives extra hydration to the skin, before makeup and makes my makeup stay in place all day. Another primer that I loved during 2015 was Dior Glow Maximizer, I loved wearing this under my foundation for added luminosity. However on days where I want a light base with sheer-medium coverage I always reached for Dior Nude BB Creme I have this in my normal and tan shades. This gives a skin like finish with a gorgeous dewy finish.
I picked these next two products up from IMATS during the summer and since re-purchased both of them. Mac Prep and Prime in Light Boost is my go-to product for under the eyes, it cancels out the dark tones of my under eyes and really highlights them. To conceal the rest of my face I use Makeup Forever full coverage concealer, this stuff is amazing at concealing blemishes and redness and it actually stays put all day long.
I didn’t know what to call this category so just named it face, as it concludes all my favourite contour, bronzing and highlighting products. During 2015 I really got into the whole contour and highlighting trend and absolutely loved it. During the summer my sister went to America and managed to pick up some products for me. My go-to contouring palette is Kat Von D shade and light palette, I think this has been used everyday since I got it in September and I have already hit pan on two of the shades. For bronzing my skin I have loved Nars Laguna bronzer, I’ve been using this daily and been absolutely loving it. Laguna gives a natural bronze to my skin with added luminosity. Of course my favourite highlighter of the year has to be Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne pop highlighter. I have been loving highlighting and this product has been my go-to.
2015 saw the release of the Urban Decay Smokey palette and I was straight on that bandwagon. I love this palette, I reach for it on a daily bases because it has all the shades that i’d ever need in one palette and I love that. Makeup Geek eyeshadows have become my new favourite eyeshadows recently and during the summer I managed to get hold of a few shades, I have since added to my collection. My go-to shades are Peaches and Cream, Creme Brûlée and Cocoa Bear. As you can see I have already hit pan on two of the shades (Peaches and Cream and Creme Brûlée) as I use these daily. Another eye fave has to be Mac pigment in Blue Brown, at IMATS I managed to get hold of the shadow in Boom Boom Room, Blue Brown is a dupe for the shadow but in pigment form and it is my go-to eye look for nights out.
I don’t have that many lip favourites from 2015 because I feel like I started to experiment with my lip choices towards the end of the year and I got a few new lippies for Christmas, however one lip combination that never fails to disappoint is Mac Soar lip liner and Nars Anna Audacious Lipstick.
I have really got into using eyelash curlers and I can’t go away without using them now. I have the Shu Uemera ones and I love them. I have used a lot of makeup brushes but my go-to’s have to be Crown Deluxe crease brush, Cover FX custom blending brush*, Zoeva powder brush and Sigma Tapered face brush. During 2015 I really got into using a beauty blender to blend in my makeup. I don’t think I can do my makeup without one now.
My favourite perfume of 2015 has got to be Stella McCartney perfume. During the summer I went through nearly a full bottle of the Eau de toilette, but during the winter I have been loving the Eau de parfum. This is defiantly my signature scent. Mac Fix + has been a favourite of mine for years but I have been reaching for this a lot more this past year and I can’t go a day without spritzing my face with it.
Still reading? That was such a long post, but I had a lot of favourites this year. What were your 2015 beauty favourites?
