What Lucy Eats | London Edition

I want to add more lifestyle posts onto WLL and what better way than to talk about my second favourite thing, food. As some of you may know, I was in London this weekend with my family. We visited a few new places that we had never been before and I thought that I would document them here on my blog. I’m a creature of habit and sticking to what I know is normally how it goes. However this weekend we tried a few new types of foods and restaurant’s.The first place was an American diner called The Diner. Although I’ve had burgers, hot dogs and cheese fries before this place was different. I had the burger called Juicy Lucy –totes didn’t pick it because of the name– this burger is a pulled pork patty filled with diner cheese sauce, coleslaw and BBQ sauce. I asked it to come without the coleslaw however. As a side I ordered cheese fries, I would have normally gone for sweet potato fries but I fancied cheese fries.
My sister had a hot dog with pulled pork on top. This also looked really good but I prefer burgers. The whole atmosphere in the Diner was amazing; they had red booths and American Diner like signs all around the place. I would recommend visiting one if you are in the area.On the Sunday for Fathers day we visited Wahaca on Southbank. With my sister living in London at the moment she had already visited a Wahaca and recommended it to us. Mexican cuisine isn’t something we had ever tried properly before. We all ordered a selection of different plates from the street food section on the menu.I had grilled British steak taco with grilled cheese and salsa, chipotle chicken quesadillas and a side of sweet potato. I love tacos but my favourite piece was the chipotle chicken quesadillas, they tasted so good. Sweet potato is also one of my favourite things and I loved these crispy sweet potato chunks, they had just the right amount of salt on them.My mum had sweet potato and feta taquitos and the slow cooked pork tacos. I tried some of her tacos and they were delicious. I will most likely be visiting Wahaca again as I really did enjoy it.
I’m happy we ventured out of our comfort zone this weekend and tried something a bit different. Hopefully we will do this again next time.
Have you been to any of these places?
Thanks for reading,

Lucy xxx
