Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory (£6.99)

This foundation has been mentioned a few times here on WLL but I thought it was time to devote a full post to it. Rimmel Match Perfection foundation (£6.99) aka THAT foundation.

It’s not very often that I will repurchase, or even finish a foundation, especially a drug store offering. But this foundation ticks all of the boxes for me. It even has SPF in it, not a very high one but for us Brits, we don’t need a high SPF.

It claims to have a traceless coverage with advanced smart-tone technology for perfectly flawless skin under any light. It also gives an illuminating glow, which lasts all day. I always find with any foundation that it is risky to claim that it lasts all day, with this foundation however I do find it does last a good 7-8 hours with a setting powder. I wear this foundation most days when I have college and then work until 6pm, I have tested it for a good 11-12 hours in a day and at about 8 hours I find I need to top up my powder or concealer.

You can adapt this foundation to your own personal coverage preference, one layer will lightly cover the face but it is build able. I do find though, if you want a more full coverage it can appear cakey in some areas. These areas seem to be the driest parts of my face of my face, a full coverage foundation always seems to enhance my driest areas.

At the moment I’m loving dewy skin, I think it’s perfect for spring/summer and I have been having a few no makeup, makeup days with this foundation, as it gives a flawless “I’m not foundation” base –with one layer. As you can see from the photograph above, this is my second bottle of this foundation.  The only issue I have with this foundation is the shade range, as it is a drugstore foundation it is hard to fine your match and colour match yourself properly. Rimmel have about 10 different shades for this foundation, which is ok but theres not really something for everyone. I have the shade 100 Ivory and I do find that this is sometimes to light for me, but in other lights it looks like the perfect shade.

Just a quick note, this foundation is very heavily scented, as drugstore foundations normally are. I’m not too fussed with the smell as it is a very good foundation for me, so I can deal with this small issue. But i’m just warning any of you who hate scented foundations. It’s a smelly one.

Thank you for reading, comment below if you’ve ever found ‘THAT’ foundation you just can’t be without. I’d love to know, also tell me if you’ve tried this foundation before I’d love to hear what you guys think.
