New In Skincare

Skincare edit.

I love trying new skincare; I am always on the hunt for the best hydrating, glow-giving and anti-aging products for my acne-prone dehydrated skin. I know, needy much. I often have a collection of new skincare building up in my bathroom so I thought i’d start a new-in skincare edit here on WLL.

As I mentioned previously, I have acne-prone skin, which is dry, dehydrated and scarred. I have been trying to cut down my skincare, using only the basics my skin likes.

Power Recharging Night Pressed Serum*

Algenist have combined the power of a serum and the texture of a cream in one, to be used overnight for a youthful, glowing complexion in the morning. It has Alguronic Acid, a powerful anti-aging ingredient; Algaprotein and nutrient-rich coconut water. The hybrid pressed serum claims to address the first visible signs of aging by recharging fatigued skin, visibly reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and refining dull, uneven texture.

This serum is just what my skin needs to stay hydrated and smooth. I have started to add in anti-aging products into my routine to help fight the first signs of aging. I’m excited to add this unique pressed serum into my routine.

Peony Brightening UV Shield Suncreen SPF 50++

I’ve been on the hunt for a lightweight spf for the face all summer, I came across the peony brightening sunscreen from Fresh and ordered it straight away; it sounded like an absolute dream.

It claims to significantly brighten and hydrate the complexion while providing a powerful shield against UV rays and pollution. It also says it will visibly reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyper-pigmentation and protects against future damage.

However after using it, I am not overly impressed. It’s thick and leaves a white cast on the face; which isn’t ideal under makeup. I’m going to take this spf on holiday with me and see how it wears in the sun and report back, under makeup I’m not convinced.

Rainforest of the Sea Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturiser

This cooling gel features a thirst-quenching cocktail of hyaluronic acid and electrolyte-balancing sea salts that hydrates skin without weighing it down. It’s a perfect daily, vegan gel moisturizer that soothes and refreshes parched skin with electrolyte-packed hydration. I have been using this moisturiser daily for a while now and I am still loving it, its perfect under makeup or for no-makeup days for a natural dewy glow.
