August is my birthday month so it is obviously my favourite time of the year, the fact that it can be really warm is just an added bonus. In terms of makeup however I like to switch my routine up a bit during the summer months so here is what i’ve been loving this month.
To prep my skin I have been loving Makeup Forever Step 1 skin equaliser – Hydrating base. I have dry to normal skin. However being in the sun for long periods of time I have found that it has dried out my skin a lot more than usual. Using this primer before I put my foundation on has added that little bit more hydration to my skin which I have defiantly needed.
Mac Prep+Prime highlighter in Light boost was one of the many things I brought from IMATS back in July, I have been using this everyday since. I apply this in a triangle shape under my eyes, this brightens the area as well as concealing them. This is part of my everyday routine and I will defiantly need to go and buy a back up before this runs out.
Another IMATS purchase is Crown 200 Deluxe Crease brush. I have since then brought two more of these brushes for my makeup kit. This brush is incredible, it blends eyeshadow like a dream. I use this brush mostly for applying and blending out my crease shades (as the name would suggest). This brush is so flexible and soft, it requires little to no effort to blend eyeshadows out. I recommend this brush to pretty much anyone. If you like the Mac 217 you will love this one.
As I mentioned previously, August was my birthday month and on my birthday I treated myself to the brand new Urban Decay Smokey Palette (you can read my review here). I have been using this palette everyday, it is so versatile and easy to use. I am completely in love with this palette.
A couple of months before Summer I received this package from the lovely Dave Lackie. I won one of his amazing giveaways and it so happened to be a very generous Bobbi Brown collection. The bronzer/blusher duo has been my most used product this summer, I have taken this on all of my holidays and trips aways this Summer. The bronzer and blusher together makes it ideal for travel. The bronzer has been the perfect shade through my tanned days and palest moments, it is a great shade that suits all.
Who knew that expensive eyelash curlers would really make a difference. The Shu Eemura eyelash curlers however beat my £3 forever 21 pair by far. I had been using very cheap eyelash curlers for a while and I finally got round to purchasing the ever loved Shu Emura ones. I am completely smitten with the results. My lashes have never looked so curled and long, mascara actually stays on a lot better when using them also.
Lastly, the Stella McCartney perfume that has my heart. This is defiantly ‘my scent’, at only 19 years old thats a bold comment to make because my tastes could defiantly change as I get older but I love this perfume. Every time I wear it I get compliments and people asking me what I’m wearing. I am going to be putting up a review of this perfume soon so keep your eyes out for that.
Well, I was going to add in my September goals at the end of this post but it is already too long so if you would like to hear about my goals and plans for September, let me know and i’ll do a separate post.
