Sheer Colour Lip Gloss in Nearly Nude (£18.50) is a gorgeous shade to wear alone or on top of other lipsticks. Again I have never used Bobbi Brown lip glosses but these are stunning. They smell and taste of peppermint and they aren’t sticky at all, which I love from lip glosses.
If you follow me on twitter WhatLucyLovesxo you will know that last weekend something pretty exciting happened. I won a competition hosted by Dave Lackie on twitter and Instagram. I always enter competitions in hope I will someday win something. However I was completely shocked that I had actually won the Bobbi Brown Sandy Nudes Collection.
The package arrived from Canada on Thursday, with a lovely hand written note from Dave inside. I have experimented with the products so I thought i’d write about the products I got sent.
Shimmering Sands Eye Palette (£52) Face and Body Bronzing Duo (£34) Lip colour shimmering finish in Pink Gold Shimmer and Beige Gold Shimmer (£19.50) Sheer Colour Lip Gloss in Nearly Nude (£18.50) Nail Polish in Naked and Nude (£11)
The whole collection is absolutely gorgeous, I always gravitate towards nude shades and I will be getting a lot of use out of this collection.
Shimmering Sands Eye Palette (£52). This palette is beautiful, as you can see it has 12 shades, 1 matte shade and the rest are shimmers. I have been wearing these shades in my everyday routine since it arrived in the post. You can create a wide variety of looks with this palette and I love using the darker shades for a night out.
As you can see from the swatches above, the lighter shades in the palette aren’t as pigmented as the darker shades, I use the lighter shades to highlight my brow bone and inner corner. The last row in the palette is my favourite, the darker shades are gorgeous for all over the lid or part of a smokey eye.
Face and Body Bronzing Duo (£34) I received the shades Antigua and Golden Light. These are perfect shades for my skin tone. The blusher (Antigua) is very similar to Nars Orgasm blush without the gold sparkle through it. It is very pigmented and a little does go a long way on the cheeks. The bronzing shade (Golden Light) also reminds me of a Nars product, Laguna bronzer. Golden Light however does have a more red tone than laguna. The shade is perfect for bronzing the face and neck, it works really well with my skin tone.
L-R: Antigua, Golden Light
I have been using these two shades to contour, bronze and add colour to my cheeks. They are both really pigmented so be aware when you first dip your brush into the palette because I picked up way too much pigment the first time.
Lip colour shimmering finish in Pink Gold Shimmer and Beige Gold Shimmer (£19.50) I have never tried lipsticks from Bobbi Brown so I was so excited to try these. Pink Gold shimmer is my favourite from the two, its a colour that I would normally wear on my lips and the sparkle adds shine and highlight to the lips which I love. Beige Gold Shimmer isn’t a shade I would normally go for but I have been using it on top of other shades to add sparkle.
L-R: Pink Gold Shimmer, Beige Gold Shimmer, Nearly Nude.
Nail Polish in Naked and Nude (£11)
I have a huge nail polish collection but I haven’t got a shade that is nude/skin coloured. Im excited to wear these shades on my nails throughout the summer months.
Have you tried anything from the Sandy Nudes Collection?
Thank you for reading,
